Flat or convex mirror: what's the difference

Both versions of the Aero 4 share the same head, arm, clamps and bag. Only the glass is different:

In the UK many caravanners still prefer flat glass. According to Milenco, this habit dates back to when other brands' convex mirrors distorted the image so much that judging distances was difficult. So choose flat if it's what you're used to and a slightly smaller field of view is enough for you.

Will the flat Aero 4 mirrors fit my car?

Milenco designs these clamps for 99% of cars, 4x4s and vans built since 1995. Only these cases need parts sold separately:

• Kia Sorento (from 2010): Aero V Pads, ref. 3186.
• Audi, Seat and Skoda (from 2013) and the 2016 Vauxhall/Opel Astra: Aero F Pads, ref. 4664.
• Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover (from 2014): Aero LR Pads, ref. 4466.
• BMW X3 and X5 (from 2018): Milenco advises its Platinum range, such as the Milenco Grand Aero Platinum mirror.

And if your caravan is 2.5 metres wide, you may need the Aero XL extra-long arms (ref. 2462).

Fitting with thumb wheels

Each mirror attaches with clamps that you tighten by hand. Because they sit on a tilting axis, they follow the shape of the car's mirror, even on housings with compound tapered flanges. The grip pads are also held in place so they don't get lost, and with no straps, no vibration reaches the head.

On the road, the aerodynamic head uses the air around the car to stay steady; Milenco has tested it at 250 km/h (155 mph). As a result, it copes better with strong winds and passing lorries.
