The Telair DualClima 12500H is Telair's most powerful roof air conditioner, designed for large motorhomes, campervans and caravans, from 8 to 10 m. It gives 3.17 kW of cooling (10,800 BTU/h) and 3.08 kW of heating with its heat pump, and fits over a standard 40 x 40 cm rooflight opening. Many customers search for it as "Telair Dual Clima 12500H": it's the bigger sibling of the DualClima 8400H, with the same casing and more power.
Designed for vehicles from 8 to 10 m
A long motorhome or a large caravan has more air to cool. That's why Teleco reserves the DualClima 12500H for vehicles from 8 to 10 m: it moves up to 480 m³/h of air and gives 10,800 BTU/h of cooling, 2,300 BTU/h more than the DualClima 8400H. What's more, while it cools, it also dehumidifies the air inside.
With the AUTO function, you don't need to keep an eye on it: the unit decides for itself the fan speed and whether to cool or heat, to keep the temperature where you've set it.
Heat pump: low-consumption heating in spring and autumn
With its heat pump, the Telair DualClima 12500H gives 3.08 kW of heating while drawing 1350 W, more than double the energy it consumes. It's a convenient way to take the chill off spring and autumn mornings.
That said, it's worth knowing its limits. According to Teleco, the heat pump performs well down to around 4°C outside. Below 15°C it starts to lose heating output gradually, and under 4°C it loses much of it. For cold winters, you'll need your vehicle's own heating as well.
Electrical consumption and soft start
The DualClima 12500H runs on 230 V - 50 Hz. It draws 1400 W (6.1 A on average) when cooling and 1350 W (5.9 A) when heating. On start-up it pulls 29 A for 150 ms, and it features a soft start.
- On a campsite hook-up: we don't recommend a 6 A hook-up, because the average cooling consumption (6.1 A) already exceeds what the hook-up can deliver. Look for a 10 A hook-up or more, and spread out the use of other high-power appliances.
- With a generator: Teleco specifies a 2200 W generator.
- For installation: the manufacturer's manual calls for a dedicated circuit for the unit, with 3 x 2.5 mm² cable and a 10 A circuit breaker, and a voltage that never drops below 205 V.
Remember that it only runs on 230 V: it doesn't connect to the 12 V battery.
Internal diffuser just 4.9 cm thick
Inside, you'll only see a flat diffuser 4.9 cm thick and 52 x 60 cm, sloped on all four sides so it doesn't clash with your cupboards. It has two outlets, one facing forward and one back, which you can direct up, down and sideways. The flow divider splits the airflow between the two or sends it all to one.
The diffuser itself shows the inside temperature on an LED display and has two indicator lights showing whether the unit is cooling or heating. It also has a two-bar LED courtesy light.
Controls with the remote and optional Wi-Fi
The infrared remote lets you choose between automatic, cooling and heating, set the temperature between 16 and 31°C, programme the on and off times with the timer, switch on the diffuser light and use its LED torch. You get 3 fan speeds, plus automatic.
Lost the remote? According to the manual, you can start it up in automatic mode at 24°C by pressing the small hidden button next to the diffuser's display with a thin object.
What's more, the Telair 2026-27 catalogue lists it as compatible with Wi-Fi control from your phone (ICW interface) and with the CI-BUS and Teleco HUB systems via its interface; the interfaces are bought separately. For maintenance, the internal filters lift out and wash clean, and it has anti-freeze protection sensors.
Fitting over a 40 x 40 cm rooflight opening
The Telair DualClima 12500H uses the standard 40 x 40 cm rooflight opening (the manual specifies a 395 x 395 mm cut-out) and suits roofs from 30 to 70 mm thick. The diffuser is fixed to the unit with four M6 screws and adhesive frames that stack according to the thickness of your roof.
The unit weighs 39 kg and takes up the same footprint as the DualClima 8400H: 98 x 65 cm and 23.9 cm high above the roof. Check your vehicle's payload before fitting it. Leave it to a professional workshop: they'll check the roof and the electrical installation, and can answer any questions about your vehicle's paperwork.

From what vehicle length does the DualClima 12500H make sense?
Teleco recommends it for vehicles from 8 to 10 m. If yours measures 6.5 to 8 m, the DualClima 8400H is enough, and it uses less power.
What power does it draw? Does it work on a 6 A campsite hook-up?
It uses 1400 W when cooling (6.1 A on average) and 1350 W when heating (5.9 A), with a peak of 29 A for 150 ms on start-up (it has a soft start). We don't recommend a 6 A hook-up: the average cooling consumption alone already exceeds what it can deliver. With 10 A or more you'll have more headroom, although the start-up peak may or may not trip the limiter depending on each campsite's own installation.
What size generator do I need?
Teleco specifies a 2200 W generator. The unit runs on 230 V - 50 Hz and the manual requires the voltage to never drop below 205 V. It doesn't run on 12 V.

Is it noisy?
The manufacturer doesn't publish a noise level in decibels, and we'd rather not give you an unsupported figure. What Teleco does say is that the DualClima range is designed to run quietly, both inside and outside the vehicle. To sleep, set the lowest speed and programme it to switch off.
What's the difference between the DualClima 12500H and the 8400H? Does it come in black?
They share the same casing and diffuser, and fit the same opening. The 12500H gives more cooling and heating (3.17 and 3.08 kW versus 2.50 and 2.46 kW), draws more power (1400 W versus 990 W when cooling), weighs 3 kg more and, according to Teleco, has a soft start. The 12500H is only made in white; if you're after a black DualClima, there's the DualClima 8400H black.
Can I control it from my phone, or without the remote?
From your phone, yes, with an accessory: the Telair 2026-27 catalogue lists it as compatible with the ICW Wi-Fi interface, sold separately. And if you lose the remote, the emergency button on the diffuser starts it up in automatic mode at 24°C.
